History
Curriculum Intent
Our history curriculum is designed to ignite curiosity about the past while offering students a comprehensive understanding of key events, individuals, and developments from both British and global history. By engaging with a wide range of historical sources, debates, and interpretations, students are encouraged to explore the complexity of human experiences, fostering empathy and cultural awareness. The curriculum emphasises the development of essential skills, including analytical thinking, evidence evaluation, and understanding cause and consequence. Students are taught to consider diverse perspectives, form well-reasoned opinions, and critically reflect on historical events, preparing them for future learning and helping them recognise the ongoing relevance of history in today’s world.
