Senior Leadership Team

At Marshalls Park Academy, our Senior Leadership Team provides strategic direction, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and student experience.  Each member of the team leads on key areas of school development while supporting staff and students to achieve excellence. 

We have included a brief resume of each of our roles in the biographies below. There are, of course, many responsibilities beyond those listed, but this will give you a good flavour of our key roles should you wish to contact the school.

Mrs Aylett

Headteacher

Mrs Aylett leads the strategic direction of the school, with a focus on teaching and learning, professional development and parental and community engagement.  

Mrs Gilroy

Deputy Headteacher - Outcomes

Mrs Gilroy leads on student outcomes, including progress, attainment, and data, while driving curriculum strategy, innovation, and pathways.  Also oversees timetabling and works closely with curriculum leaders to ensure high standards across subjects.

Mr Smyrk

Deputy Headteacher - Student Experience

Mr Smyrk leads the overall student experience, including pastoral care, PSHE and alternative provision, ensuring students are fully supported in all aspects of school life.

Ms Jackson

Assistant Headteacher - Safeguarding

Ms Jackson leads safeguarding and child protection across the school.  Ms Jackson oversees provision for Looked After Children, coordinates multi-agency working, and ensures that vulnerable students are effectively supported in their day-to-day school experience.

Mr Goude

Assistant Headteacher - Curriculum

Mr Goude leads on curriculum operations, including timetabling, assessment and examinations, the options process, parents’ evenings and the school calendar.

Mr Gallagher

Assistant Headteacher - Behaviour & Standards

Mr Gallagher leads on behaviour, rewards, and pupil engagement, working closely with families to promote high standards and a positive school culture, including extra-curricular provision.
